Watercolor Winter Scenes & Hand Painted Notecards

Happy Winter!

The snow is falling and the winds are howling. So, get inside, grab your watercolors, and join me in painting some  lovely, wintery wonderlands! Participants will use Derwent Inktense Paints to create six small snowy scenes. These can be divided when finished and used as greeting cards or gift tags. The workshop includes demonstrations of the wet-on-wet technique as well as the use of Derwent’s waterbrush and traditional watercolor brushes.

• Derwent Inktense 24 Color Paint Pan Set – https://www.michaels.com/derwent-inktense-24-color-paint-pan-set/D271576S.html
• Arches Cold Pressed Watercolor Block, size 9×12 – https://www.michaels.com/arches-cold-pressed-watercolor-block/D243169S.html
  • Other 9×12 watercolor paper will work, but this is the one that I personally recommend because it holds up through multiple water applications.
• Liquitex Professional Acrylic Gouache Paint, color Titanium White – https://www.michaels.com/liquitex-professional-acrylic-gouache-paint-2oz/D240109S.html
  • Any other white acrylic paint will also work for this activity.
• 3/4″ wide Scotch Masking tape
• Pencil
• Eraser
• Cup of water
• Bottle of water to refill waterbrush easily
• Small towel

  • Any other watercolor brushes on Michael’s website will work as well.
